The International Center for Academic Integrity highlights six key pillars namely: trust, respect, responsibility, honesty, courage, and fairness that form the basis of integrity in academics (International Center for Academic Integrity, 2013). Communities that have evolved academically have value for the individuality that results from a diverse population. Both students and faculty need to uphold some level of clarity with each other to nurture the value of fairness. Fostering integrity requires accountability from academic communities such that in case of any wrongdoing, relevant action is taken. Courage is the value that binds everything. In my professional practice as a nurse, I will ensure that I abide by the ANA code of ethics to guide my actions and decision-making. As emphasized by Hoskins, Grady & Ulrich (2018), I also look forward to having a partner who will ensure that I can account for my time, practice decisions and actions.
