Newly Renovated FRUIT OF THE VINE FOOD PANTRY, 181 E. 5TH AVENUE
SATURDAY MORNINGS
Pancakes start served at 8:30 am.
Pick-up for food orders is from 9:30am – 11:30am.
Every Saturday morning our Free Pantry is open to help families in need of food assistance. We serve members of our church, those who live in the 43201zip code, and the homeless community. We give away free groceries and share the good news about Jesus Christ as the opportunity arises.
Ways you can help: You are welcome to come down to the Pantry on any Saturday morning to help. Opportunities will be available to help stock shelves, bag groceries, distribute food, welcome clients, help with the registration table, or pray for visitors. Children 7-8 years and up are welcome with parents. If you are with a small group, we will need to schedule a time for you to volunteer together. Group size should be 10-12. If you are on your own, please feel free to go anytime.
Time–Show up at 8:00-8:15am to receive brief instructions from our ministry leaders. We distribute groceries from 9:30-11:30am. and pancakes starting at 8:30am. If you can, please plan to stay till noon to help with clean up. Our wonderful volunteer manager: Chris Blosser
Parking– Volunteers can park in the back of the pantry, on the side of the building off the alley, and in front and behind Carl Zipf Lock Service (at 161 E 5th Ave). When we have Farmer’s Markets the 3rd Saturdays, April-October, you cannot park in front of Ziph’s. Please park along the side streets around the pantry south of 5th Avenue. Put valuables in the trunk of your car just to be safe. We’ve never had any problems with theft.
A few points to remember:
- Wear old clothes and comfortable shoes as you will be working in a warehouse setting and may get dirty.
- Don’t bring in purses or valuables as there’s no place to store them. You can bring food or personal items to donate and we will accept homeless donations like blankets or batteries, BUT we do not hand these out during Saturday morning pantry hours.
