My strong desire to becoming a competent nursing provider is supported by extensive efforts towards both the academic a professional development. This is because, it requires more than just passion but hard work and deliberate plans geared towards achieving and fulfilling my career (Meretoja, Lindfors & Kotila, 2019) NURS 6003N Networking Opportunities. I am currently pursuing a master of science in nursing having already completed a Bachelor degree. I enrolled for the post graduate program with the aim of advancing my academic development in preparation for my career. My goals include the development and strengthening of critical thinking in order to prepare for effective decision-making in the sensitive clinical setting with the aim of impacting the society’s health positively (Kaya, Şenyuva & Bodur, 2017). Another objective is to cultivate a positive attitude which will help me to keep cool, calm and on my feet in times of crisis. In addition, I seek to embrace collaboration, communication and teamwork from group discussions and classroom tasks which is essential in learning, assisting and asking for assistance NURS 6003N Networking Opportunities.

On the other hand, my professional development is based on multiple goals. These include to effectively implement evidence-based practice interventions to promote the safety of the patient and uphold high quality care. Another professional goal is to provide excellent patient-centered care through holistic practice (Owens, 2017). It also educates baccalaureate prepared nurses for leadership roles in clinical nursing, advanced practice, nursing education and hence, the information obtained fits with my own goals and to becoming a scholar-practitioner (Lane, 2017). The scholar practitioner model is also challenges me to integrate scholarly research with my own expertise as a skilled practitioner in the nursing field. The students will also help me in building my communication and teamwork spirit and a positive attitude towards interaction and collaboration. My preceptor will also pay an essential role in familiarizing me with the healthcare setting and as well act as a role model to my future career development during my practicum experiences.
